Hoxie, Clara Sue Kidwell, Rennard Strickland, and David Hurst Thomas. Tribal culture committees and tribal historians have also contributed essays. Frances H. Kennedy, editor and principal contributor, wrote short entries on more than one hundred of the places. Royalties will be donated to the National Museum of the American Indian. W.
